Great dramatic blue reflections in what looks like a very wet ground. Lovely rainbow colours in the figure. Were they made with watercolour and the rainbow effect with pastel?
Hi thanks for your comments, really pleased you like what I've done. The colours are watercolour but I have manipulated them in photoshop. The ground is a scanned sheet of watercolour brush strokes with which I have used a layer mask, the shadows layer is set as overlay blend mode. The woman colour I’ve messed with saturation and other things and then used filters (motion blur, find edges, etc) on the watercolour on duplicate layers and put both at 50% transparency. I’m not sure how much of this has been covered in the course but I have some experience of photoshop. I suggest you experiment with blend modes, filters and image/adjustments and have some fun. Look forward to seeing the results!
Thanks for your detailed response Lindsay. I'm pretty new to Photoshop so I haven't got to use layer masks and filters yet. However I might just have a play about with them as you suggested and see what I can learn!
Thanks! I haven't used PS a lot either for more than some basic tasks, so I'm impressed that it can take water colour areas and turn them into such convincing pastel strokes. I'll definitely try that.
You mention masks too - and I have tried to use those, but so far with no success. I need to look up a youtube vid!
