This is hugely clever while appearing to be naive! Not easy to achieve. The paper and printing style give us authentic context, and the content of the note and its source are definitely believable. The tic tic tic of the watch let's us in on the probability that Granny herself has something to do with this presentation of the story. Good decision not to try real reflections - there's no need to be photographic in illustration, even reportage illustration. I find the afternoon tea image a little distracting, perhaps it's its location - or it seems it was created at a larger scale and reduced. Maybe the main image could be higher and the tea at the bottom, as a footnote to an active day.
Crumpling the paper - again, an authentic kid touch.
Lots of warm humour here. It's a pleasure to have been allowed this intimate glimpse of a wonderful world.
Lovely illustration and nice composition! Love the colors, how you did the hair without line work (it gives movement, particularly on the girl) and the collage on the skirt!
