Dogs misbehaving and getting asbos via their owners

Struggled with Photoshop this week and didn't have time to start over. Not proud of these but thought I should post something!

I like the liveliness of the whole thing: the splotches are good with the theme.

The dogs are super cool and the shadows and splashing. I would not have the words as they distract form the article. Maybe a more random composition?

Jill I think you're being far too harsh on yourself! I love the characters in the dogs. Possibly to add focus to the eye is to either add texture or colour to the dogs OR the graffiti. Even if done in a simplistic way - somebody's style that suits yours and worth looking at is the design classic book 'Harry the dirty dog' happy to send you some sample pages to see texture and colour.
